Working Model
We follow a well-defined, orderly methodology for working with our clients to create the desired web presence. The following is an overview of our working model. Our focus at all times is to understand and satisfy the client's requirements.
- We begin by working closely with you to define your website requirements. We listen carefully and ask questions until we are sure we understand the requirements fully. Where your requirements are unclear or ambiguous we assist you in defining them clearly.
- We tell you how your requirements will be implemented in the context of our web development tools and capabilities. We explain how the website will appear, and how the various features will be accessed. We show you examples of existing websites as necessary for clarification. We ask for your feedback to ensure that the proposed implementation fully meets your needs.
- We discuss and come to agreement with you about all business aspects of the project, including project planning, coordination, scheduling and costs. We establish whether you will require on-going support and maintenance on completion of the initial website development.
- We ask you to choose a domain name for your website. You can either register the domain name yourself or we can do this for you.
- We quickly build a prototype site under the domain ForSMB. If your selected domain name is YourDomain, the prototype site will be available to you at YourDomain.ForSMB.com. All the prototype features and capabilities will be available for inspection and try-out at this site.
- We consult with you to ensure that site includes all the required content and features. We make modifications and correct errors as necessary.
- If necessary we bring in additional expertise such as graphic designers, technical writers and foreign language translators to implement specialized features and provide the final polish.
- We provide training on how to use the monitoring and administrative tools. These are provided as a standard capability with all ForSMB web services.
- We copy the website from the prototype domain to the actual domain—for example, from YourDomain.ForSMB.com to YourDomain.com. The site is now live and ready for access by your clients, customers and employees. The prototype site continues to exist under ForSMB in case you require implementation of additional features or functionality.
- If required we provide on-going hosting, maintenance and support for the site. Alternatively you can provide these capabilities in-house. In either case we are always available to provide additional features and capabilities should you require these in the future.
Your completed website will be a Libre Service. This means that the website is implemented using 100% open-source and free software—it will not include a single line of proprietary software. On request we can point you to the source code for all software used for implementation of the site.
